World Cup sides nearly decided as the European Play-Off spots are drawn

The European Play-Off Draw has been conducted and some power house sides have been draw to one-another. It will be tricky and will mean an exit for a few good sides.

Three of the seeded teams will be playing at home in the first leg.

Portugal and Sweden will meet each other and due to the FIFA world rankings the Swedes did not receive a rank. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will lead his team against the Portuguese and Cristiano Ronaldo in the battle of two of the most talented players going around.

Ukraine will meet France. Dangerous for the French as the first leg will be in the Ukraine. The French will back themselves after coming out of the group stage with a good record where Spain were the stand-outs. Ukraine finished behind England in their group.

Greece, the team with the best record of all second-placed teams with 25 points were given a reprieve and will face Romania. The Romanians will be tough to beat at home, and so the Greeks will need to be better in front of goals than their qualifying campaign. Romania got through on the last day of the group stage second to the Netherlands.

Finally Iceland will play the first leg at home to Croatia. Iceland were the surprise inclusion in the play-offs; it will be the last hurrah for Eider Gudjohnsen, a seasoned professional. Croatia ended the group stage poorly losing to Scotland but had done enough beforehand to get out of the group second to Belgium.

First Leg: 15 November 2013 (Friday)
Second Leg: 19 November 2013 (Tuesday)

The Draw:
Portugal (S) v Sweden
Ukraine (S) v France
Greece (S) v Romania
Iceland v Croatia (S)
